From the crystal-clear waters of the Andalo and Molveno
lakes to the many trails of the beautiful mountains
of the Paganella plateau.
Altopiano della Paganella is the name of the tourist
district lying in the mid-western part of Trentino
which gravitates around Paganella (the mountain overlooking
Trento and Valle dell´Adige) and the Brenta
Dolomites. This plateau offers countless opportunities
for excursions, from the simplest to long easy pathways
to those requiring preparation and experience on challenging
mountaineering ascents. The main centers in this tourist
district are Molveno, Andalo and Fai. The presence
of the lake has greatly encouraged the development
of tourism in Molveno; a free beach with facilities,
claimed to be one of the most beautiful in Trentino,
has been made on the shores of the lake. Andalo is
centrally situated on the tableland and among its
tourist facilities it boasts a real sports citadel
which has recently been extended to include a modern
indoor ice rink. In Fai you can visit the archaeological
excavations which have brought to light the remains
of a Rhaetian village.
