It's no valley like the others. You have a free view

Vinschgau
Valley - Eldorado for walking tours.
Speak with the running water. The most beautiful irrigation-canal-paths
are in Vinschgau and also the walkig tours aren't less beautiful.
What can be more beautiful than to walk on irrigation canal
paths, across woods and groves, across bushes and fruit-
gardens on both sides of the Vinschgau Valley, accompanied
by the murmur of the running water and at the same time
have a look at the magical world of mauntains of the valley
with its green lowlands and the snowy glaciers?
The irrigation canals are an ancient system of irrigation
which was puzzled out many centuries ago to give water to
the fields of the extreme dry and sunny Vinschgau. In Vinschgau
it rains the less in the whole Alps. With simple means there
built long drains to bring the water from the glaciers to
the villages, hamlets and farms. Without the vital water
many farmers in the past coulden't exist.
Expecially promenaders, walkers, excursionists from everywhere
like the irrigation canal paths. To be able to reach the
irrigation canal paths on both sides of the Vinschgau Valley
there is surmount a difference in altitude of some hundred
metres. There are some restaurants along the irrigation
canal paths, where are offered home made products and the
guest is entertained in old local tradition, where he can
relax and recreate.
In the irrigation canal guide we want to present to you
a little choice of paths in Vinschgau, where you can walk
to one's heart's content and where you can get confident
with the unique ancient culture and the irrigation canal
system.
