Valli
Giudicarie e Terme di ComanoFiavè.
The village is situated on the moraine highland of
Fiavè and it developed in the course of the merging
of three medieval centers: Sabadini, Piazza and Sotratori.
On the outskirts of the village the churches of S.
Rocco, SS. Fabiano and Sebastiano and of S. Zeno can
be found. It is a tourist and rural center, well-known
for its remarkable dairy-cheese industry.
One kilometer outside the village, in Torbiera di
Fiavè, a "biotope", an area with
high bio-ecological and naturalistic value, has been
established. The Torbiera di Fiavè is also
an internationally-renowned archaeological site. This
area has maintained the structure and many elements
typical of the past life such as the pile-dwellings
of 2300 BC (guided visits in summer - for further
information contact the Tourist Office tel. 0465 702626).
It is worth mentioning the following hamlets:
Stumiaga: a small village typical of Valli Giudicarie.
Ballino: An important communication link between the
Valli Giudicarie and Lake Garda. In the rock which
overlooks the village there is the huge cave "Camerona"
that can be visited.
The medieval Castel Campo stands hidden in the green
woods. It was often subjected to renovation and thus
possesses architectonic elements of differing periods.
The medieval courtyard with the sixteenth-century
loggia is surrounded by three towers (two cylindrical
towers and a suspended turret). Inside the city wall
there is the small fifteenth-century church that was
renovated and frescoed at the beginning of this century.
Outside the village, in Torbiera, there is a lake
set aside for sports angling. Lake Tenno is 7 km and
Lake garda is 18 km far from here.
