This village suffered a lot during the 1915-18 war
and was re-built after 1919. There are many unique
artistic monuments such as the church of S. Stefano
(1215), the House of Duty, the chapel of S. Caterina.
It is the starting point for tours on the Mount Presanella
and to the alpine huts of the Adamello Range.
The Museo della Guerra Bianca (museum of the First
World War), mounted in the house of Emilio Serra,
is of great interest.
In Stavel and Velon you can enjoy many cross-country
skiing tracks which are the best in the valley both
for professional competitions and tourist routes.
