Lavis is a village to whose original historical settlements
have been added new districts. The discovery of a
number of Roman coins of the Consular and Imperial
periods and the finding of Barbarian tombs show that
the Lavis was since the antique a ford through the
Avisio. Dating back to 1450, S.Udalrico Church, quarters
of the dean, is very beautiful, standing at the foot
of the extreme western slopes of the Dos Palòn;
after the church, in Via Roma is the Madonna painted
on the façade at the beginning of the III vicolo
Pristòl which is worth noting; noteworthy is
also the Casa Schuldhaus with its magnificent ashlar
portal and the Baroque San Giovanni Nepomuceno church,
as well as a monument dedicated to Don Giuseppe Grazioni
in the square of the same name. On the porphyritic
cliff rising above Via 4 Novembre is the only hanging
garden in Ciuciòi with stairs, dungeons, domineering
walls and even a small castle.
The old built-up areas spread along the foot of the
Paiòn hill while the main road, particularly
abundant in noble houses, crosses the entire village
starting from the bridge over the Avisio and ending
in Piazza Grazioli. It was the route of the "via
imperiale", place of heavy traffic between the
north and the south. Dating back to 1450, S.Udalrico
