The small number of houses in Mis stand in meadows
(morainal land) open to winds, isolated, solitary
and yet extremely beautiful for the impressive panorama
of the Dolomites. The village is littered with cottages
between the Valli del Rio delle Bastie and the River
Mis, which unite shortly after. Down from Mis is the
church of Madonna delle Grazie, erected in 1901.
Sagron is situated on the hill which stands at the
confluence of the Rivers Mis and Pezzea, still more
isolated than Mis. The mountain people of Trentino
living in Mis differentiate themselves from the neighbouring
Belluno people as regards character and dialect. Notorious
were the chair makers, coal burners, miners and woodcutters
of Mis and Sagron.
Worth mentioning is the parish church della Madonna
di Loreto from 1630 and the houses of Mattiuzzi situated
high in the fields of Casere and Prà di Là.
Sagron has in addition a number of cottages strewn
on the mountain.
