Martino di Castrozza, Valli del Primiero e VanoiFiera di Primiero.
Fiera di Primiero owes its name to the fact that,
in 1400, it was already the market and administrative
centre of the whole valley. Fiera, situated on the
confluence of the Cismon and Canali torrents, rose
in concomitance with the Palazzo of Mines and the
arrival of the Canòpi, the miners of German
origin.
Its location in the green bowl of Primiero, at 730
m, makes Fiera, like other villages, a very pleasant
summer holiday resort characterised by relaxation,
numerous walks and many delightful events of all kinds.
Its nearness to Fiera di Primiero (13 km) makes
it a perfect base for skiing during the winter. Fiera
di Primiero, although the smallest village in the
valley, has the largest number of shops and boutiques
with the best makes and characteristic rendezvous.
Luigi Negrelli, who conceived the Suez Canal and designed
many European railways, was born in Fiera.
