The Commune of Baselga di Piné is part of the
Alta Valsugana C4 District which has its centre in
Pergine. The Commune is connected to Trento (18 km)
by the provincial road no. 83 which joins the Valsugana
state road no. 47 at the Mochena fork, 7 km from Trento.
The Commune of Baselga is mainly a tourist resort
and offers numerous well-equipped hotels, apartments
to let, agritours, and a camping site. Noteworthy
are the Serraia and Piazze lakes, both accessible
for swimming and enjoyable throughout the year.
Apart from tourism, the economy has recently seen
a revival of the agricultural activity with the extensive
cultivation of strawberries and raspberries.
In the hamlet of San Mauro the major economic activity
is the extraction and preparation of porphyry.
In Baselga di Piné there are many sports and
recreation clubs.
