Lagorai,
Valsugana Orientale e TesinoBorgo Valsugana.
The village is situated at the top of the bend of
the Valsugana between Levico and Primolano, in the
narrow area, between the two wide amphitheatres of
Scurelle and Roncegno, formed by Mount Ciolino (area
Ziolina, 876 m), which is surrounded by ruins of the
St. Pietro Castle, and by Mount Rocchietta (705 m)
- apparently there was a fortalice here.
The village is overlooked by the Telvana Castle which
is situated on the southern sides of Mount Ciolino
and with its towers offers a unique appearance to
the area.
The River Brenta crosses the village which spread
across the valley floor and for geographical, historical
and economic reasons gives the typical appearance
of a Veneto village.
Borgo reaches to the southern sides of Mount Telvana,
where a monastery stands, along the old track of the
"imperial road" (which later became the
state road n° 47), flanking the new state road
and covers part of the large fan of the Moggio torrent.
The new quarters developed to the south of the railway
line, to the west of the village (steel factory),
to the east (Valli) towards the Brook Moggio and at
the foot of a series of ridges on the steep sides
of Mount Ciolino.
Borgo is the commercial, economic and administrative
centre of the valley, the reference point for all
the offices and seat of the magistrate´s courthouse
and of the C3 district.
