SpasVersilia.
Main subject of the offer: the bathing tourism. Versilia
develops on over 20 km of uninterrupted strand with
more than 400 bathing establishments. There are also
some kilometers of free strand, which are managed
by the municipal administrations. The climate is mild,
also thanks to the Alpi Apuane. There are on the average
270 sunny days per year and temperatures of 24,5°
in summer and 9,4° in winter. The coast is divided
into four neighbouring areas: Viareggio and Torre
del Lago-Puccini, Lido di Camaiore, Marina di Pietrasanta,
Forte dei Marmi. Viareggio, with about 60.000 inhabitants
has a tourist tradition that goes back to the end
of the 19th century as witnessed by many examples
of liberty architecture, that are mainly gathered
along the sea promenade, which is also an elegant
commercial center very crowded both in winter and
summer. Viareggio also has two pine-forests, tourist
port, congress center and additional equipment. Lido
di Camaiore and Marina di Pietrasanta are more characterized
as typical bathing resorts. Then Forte dei Marmi distinguishes
itself thanks to its gentlemanly atmosphere, its not
very big receptive structures, which are however endowed
with every comfort and usually built in former private
villas surrounded by pine-forests and gardens. The
place also boasts of a tradition as intellectual center,
which was attended by artists of each nationality
both in the past and today. All over the year the
Versilia Coast offers important manifestations, like:
Viareggio Carnival, Puccini Opera Season in Torre
del Lago, cultural manifestations at the Versiliana
of Marina di Pietrasanta, the Politic Satire Award
in Forte dei Marmi. Among the internal places, we
remind of; Camaiore with many historical and artistic
remains, Pietrasanta, historical chief town of Versilia
and important place for the marble artistic processing,
Seravezza and Stazzema at the slope of the Alpi Apuane,
Massarosa, whose origins go back to the III century
B.C. in whose territory there is Massaciuccoli with
ruins of Roman thermae of the II century and most
of the homonymous lake that falls within the Natural
Park of Migliarino-San Rossore-Massaciuccoli.
