Vinschgau
Valley Museum.
This museum depicts the Vinschgau (Venosta) Valley
from its ecological, social, and cultural side. The
portrayal of the life of small farmers forms a sharp
contrast to the feudal world of the nearby Churburg
castle. In addition to an archeological display, which
includes Bronze and Iron Age and Roman finds from
the 1997 excavations at Ganglegg, there is an exhibit
on water distribution with ingenious variations of
irrigation systems. An excursion to the prehistoric
settlement site of Ganglegg and a stroll along the
instructional path at Quairwaal round out the visit
to the museum.
