Monastery Marienberg in Burgeis.
Marienberg is a donation of the noble of Tarasp
from the 12th Century. It is as a Grail castle 1340
m above sea level and consequently it is the highest
Benedictine abbey in Europe. In the loneliness and
silence of the mountains, the first monks from Ottobeuren
created one place of liturgical prayer and busy
work here.
The cloister operates the oldest weather station
of Suedtirols and of Austria.
