TrapaniCampobello di Mazara.
The town was founded in 1623 by Giuseppe di Napoli,
who in 1630 was given a dukedom.
The Chiesa Madre, Santa Marìa delle Grazie,
and the Baronial Palace stand near the public gardens,
a little away from the modern town centre, which
is Piazza Garibaldi. The church, founded in the
17th c., was rebuilt in the 19th c.; it contains
a wooden crucifix by Fra' Umile da Petralia. Near
the town are the Rocche di Cusa, ancient quarries
from which the Selinuntines extracted stone for
the construction of the largest temple in their
city.
