Founded in the tief of Batticani by Stefano Riggio,
first Prince of Campofiorito, in about 1660. The
Branciforte family replaced the Riggios in the early
19th c.
The long thoroughfare of Via Gramsci is bisected
at right angles by Via Calvario; at this point we
can see the 17th c. Chiesa di Santo Stefano and
the nearby Chiesa di San Giuseppe (19th c.).
