PalermoAlimena.
The original nucleus of the town was built in 1603
by Don Pietro Alimena, a native of Cosenza; the
town grew under Don Antonio Alimena, in 1628.
In the vicinity of Alimena, archaeological excavations
have brought to light a site of archaic age, subsequently
Hellenized, as testified by the discovery of Corinthian
pottery.
