In the upper part of the town there are the few remains of the Castle of the Romano Colonna family, who became its overlords in 1334. The high altitude makes it possible to enjoy splendid views over the surrounding countryside and towards Etna; there are also plenty of opportunities for excursions along the mountain tracks. In the town, the Chiesa Madre clearly shows the alterations it underwent in the baroque age.
