CataniaMilo.
Founded in the 14th c. by Giovanni d'Aragona, Duke of Randazzo, in the territory of the county of Mascali. It was administratively part of Giarre until 1923 and then of Sant'Alfio, eventually becoming autonomous in 1955. The name comes from the Greek-Byzantine Milos, which means dark, the colour of lava.
