Da Levanto a Moneglia.
A pleasant calm blesses this coastal area of large
beaches alternating with tiny bays accessible from
the sea. Separated from the great lines of communication
by the belt of mountains behind them, the maritime
villages are seaside locales where a vacation by
the water's edge can be combined with fascinating
excursions into nature.
From Levanto to Moneglia, the entire coast is crisscrossed
by a dense network of trails that traverse the sea-facing
spurs covered in lush vegetation: Mediterranean
maquis, pines, olive trees, and vineyards are the
backdrop to small hamlets featuring ancient churches
and traces of ancient fortifications preserved in
protected areas.
Many holiday resorts have been built in centuries
past in places such as Deiva Marina, Moneglia, and
Levanto: here the sea is particularly well suited
for surfing and windsurfing.
