Alassio e Baie del Sole.
Vast fine sand beaches typify the stretch of Italian
coast between Alassio and Andora on the western
side of the Ligurian sea. Well-appointed bathing
establishments, excellent outdoor sporting facilities,
city centers with prestigious villas and monuments,
and picturesque vistas: it's all found in the Baie
del Sole, that include famous Ligurian tourist destinations
such as Alassio, Andora and Laigueglia.
Along the coast visitors can enjoy heliotherapic
treatments, sun bathing, and pleasant dives exploring
the rich and colorful seabed, in waters where sightings
of marine mammals are common: the whale sanctuary
center that stretches from Tuscany all the way to
Cannes is just off the coast of Andora.
On the nearby hills that shelter the shores and
maintain a mild climate year round, a dense web
of trails leads to scenic viewpoints and ancient
Medieval hamlets along the via Julia Augusta.
The city centers have no shortage of attractions
and novelties for you to discover while strolling
in the lanes and alleys of Laigueglia and along
the Alassio wall, which is covered with artistic
tiles and the signatures of famous personalities.
