Bella.
Bella is a small village that was created in the Middle
Ages. It grew from the Norman-Swabian period, up to
the Renaissance.
The XVII has been a century of poverty, because of
famines and damages caused by earthquakes. In the
following century, the village has started growing
again. The history of the XIX century is connected
to that of the brigands.
In the village there is an Aragon Castle, dating
back to the year 1000, but completed in 1567.After
several changes and renovations, the portal and two
of the four towers are all that is left of the first
structure.
The Main Church of the Assunta has a nave and two
aisles. Inside, there is a canvas representing the
‘Assunzione, Santi ed Angeli’ of the XVIII
century, a baptismal font, of the XVI century, and
the high altar in multicoloured marble.
In the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, of the
XI-XVIII centuries, are some frescos and a polyptych
of the XVI century.
